More gags, ghosts and katoeys in Hor Taew Taek (Haunting Me) sequel

Poj Arnon's sequel to his 2007 horror-comedy Haunting Me is coming up sooner than I'd like, which means there's now a trailer to avoid seeing when I head out to the cinemas in the coming weeks.

Set for release on October 1 by Phranakorn, Hor Taew Taek Haek Krajerng ( หอ แต๋ว แตก แหก กระเจิง) has Kotee Aramboy and other comedians in garish drag, being haunted by ghosts.

This time it's ghosts from old-time Siam, featuring none other than popular comedienne "Tukkie" Sudarat Butrprom, who was the only reason I could stand to watch the prolific Poj's previous comedy Sassy Players, and she was great to see in Mum Jokmok's Wongkamlao.

There's also another young Thai actress in Hor Taew Taek Haek Krajerng -- "Saipan" Apinya Sakuljaroensuk from Pen-ek Ratanaruang's Ploy, the upcoming German-Cambodian romance Same Same But Different and other films. She plays a young woman back in old Siam, dressed in the finery of that era.

According to the Bangkok Post's Mea Moo gossip column a couple of weeks ago, the role Saipan ended up taking was originally intended for transsexual actress "Poy" Treechada Marnyaporn. Poj had agreed to have Poy to play a "straight" woman character, but the winner of the 2004 Miss Tiffany Universe pageant was demanding too much money.

The first Hor Taew Taek (หอแต๋วแตก, literally, I think, "house of transvestites divided"), was released in 2007 by Five Star Production, but I think it has a more natural home now at Phranakorn.

I avoided seeing it. But Coffee Coffee and More Coffee's Peter Nellhaus was living in Thailand at the time, and he went saw it.

The sequel's trailer is embedded below, and there is more information and posters to gawk at over on Deknang.

Update: Deknang, now on Twitter, says the international title is Oh My Ghosts!
