As a prelude to the 12th Thai Short Film & Video Festival, the Thai Film Foundation is putting on the Short Film Marathon starting tomorrow.
They have 450 shorts, and they have to show them sometime. So screenings will be from 11am to 9pm on Saturdays and Sundays until August 10.
The venue for the Short Film Marathon is the wonderfully named Asylum, on the 3rd floor of Anarak Building on Silom Soi 3, near the Saladaeng Skytrain station in Bangkok.
For now there's no information about it in English. The schedule is all in Thai.
The 12th Thai Short Film & Video Festival, meanwhile, will be held August 29 to September 14, with lots of special programs planned, including S-Express Queer and the Best of the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival.
Each year the Thai Short Film & Video Festival receives more and more entries, says Chalida Uabumrungjit of the Thai Film Foundation, organizer of the festival. "Thanks to technology, amateur filmmakers no longer need to learn about analogue film. They use digital video as a medium to express their experiences and thoughts," she is quoted as saying in a brief in the print edition of today's Daily Xpress.
