We are fine: International Short Film Festival Hamburg focuses on Thailand

Fourteen Thai shorts from 2000 to 2010 are featured in We Are Fine: Thailand – Country Focus at the International Short Film Festival Hamburg.

"We are Fine is a collection of films which discreetly deal with everyday life in Thailand," says the festival website.

The selection includes works by such well-know indie names as Panu Aree, Thunska Pansittivorakul, Jakrawal Nilthamrong and Uruphong Raksasad.

Shorts I know by heart include Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit's Bangkok Tanks, featuring MSN messages sent on the night of the September 19, 2006, coup; I'm Fine Sa-Bai-Dee-Ka, with Tanwarwin Sukkhapisit sitting in the hot sun in a cage by the Democracy Monument, make-up melting off and reassuring passerbys by she's fine, just fine, thank you; and the enjoyable Four Boys, White Whiskey and Grilled Mouse by Wichanon Somumjarn.

Also of interest is Na Bua, shot on the sidelines during the production of Apichatpong Weerasethakul's Primitive project.

Here's the program:
