The Coffin is delivered to Hong Kong, China

The Coffin, an upcoming thriller by Ekachai Uekrongtham, has been picked up for distribution in Hong Kong and China by Global Entertainment Group, reports Variety from the European Film Market in Berlin.

Thailand's current most-prolific leading man, Ananda Everingham, stars alongside Hong Kong's Karen Mok, Andrew Lin and Art of the Devil 2's Napakapa "Mamee" Nakprasert .

Here is the synopsis offered by Arclight Films:

Inspired by a true Thai ritual of lying in coffins to cheat death and get rid of bad luck, The Coffin is a spine-chilling supernatural thriller about a man and a woman who are confronted by a series of paranormal and terrifying incidents after going through the bizarre ritual.

Still in production, The Coffin will be the third feature film from Ekachai, a Singapore-based Thai director whose previous films are the 2003 transgender Muay Thai biopic Beautiful Boxer, and last year's Singapore-set sex-worker drama Pleasure Factory, which also featured Ananda.
