Prachya, Panna to make English-language debut with City of Angels
Prachya Pinkaew and Panna Rittikrai, the director and action choreographer and producers behind Ong-Bak, Tom Yum Goong, Chocolate and other Thai action flicks, are set to make their English-language debut with City of Angels.
The action thriller will star Hong Kong's Robin Shou, who was recently in the Bangkok-set Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li.
The project is being produced by the new shingle XYZ Films, which is headed up Nate Bolotin, Nick Spicer and Aram Tertzakian and none other than TwitchFilm.net honcho Todd Brown.
The announcement on City of Angels was made on the sidelines of the Pusan International Film Festival, where XYZ is making its first market appearance, pushing a slate that includes the Indonesian martial-arts drama Merantau.
Update: Twitch has more. The Hollywood Reporter has the story, but Twitch says Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is not attached to the project.
