Gangster comedy the top Thai film for two weeks

Hode Nha Heaw 966 (โหดหน้าเหี่ยว 966), a gangster comedy from Avant/RS Film, has been the top Thai film at the local box office, holding the No. 2 spot for the past two weeks.

It stars the usual bunch of comedians doing the usual slapstick gags. The chubby-cheeked little boy from last year's Dream Team is thrown in to the mix. MovieSeer has a synopsis but it's not much help.

Released on January 22, Hode Nha Heaw 966 was wedged between John Woo's Red Cliff 2 and High School Musical 3. The commie comedy Blue Sky of Love was in fourth place, according to Box Office Mojo.

On last weekend's chart, Hode Nha Heaw 966 came in behind Inkheart, and topped Red Cliff 2. The newly released Muay Thai basketball drama Fireball was in fourth.

Not registering was the teen-geared romance Before Valentine, which was unveiled for sneak previews last weekend by Five Star. It's officially released this week.

There's a trailer for Hode Nha Heaw 966 on YouTube, and just to preserve my annoyance of it for the ages, I've embedded it below.
