On the trail of Pen-ek and his elusive Nymph
Pen-ek Ratanaruang is in the jungle, making his next movie, Nymph, also called Nang Mai (นางไม้).
I believe it will be a thriller.
According to Kong Rithdee's 2009 preview, Nymph "tells the story of a distraught wife whose husband has been abducted by a wood nymph after they took a trip into the jungle." There is a bit about wood nymphs or nang mai at Sacred Texts.
The stars are "Gybzy" Wanida Temthanaporn from Girly Berry, Nopachai Jayanama (Lord Rachamanu from Naresuan 2) and NBT anchorman Chamanan Wanwinwet.
Todd Brown at TwitchFilm.net has been obsessively pursuing Nymph and has a gallery of photos to show for his dogged efforts.
Meanwhile, Fortissimo, which is producing Nymph with Five Star, has brought the title to the European Film Market, according to Screen Daily.
Nymph is due for release in Thailand around mid-year.
