A mysterious teaser trailer is playing in Bangkok cinemas for Yuthlert Sippapak's upcoming comedy, E-Tim Tay Nai, which stars comedian Udom "Nose" Taepanich and Japanese model Asuka.
I caught the trailer last night, walking in on it after I had stopped just outside the cinema doors to gape at the poster of Asuka straddling Nose in a pose that reminded me of the famous Rolling Stone cover with John Lennon and Yoko Ono - but with the woman hanging on to the man. The alternate poster that shows Asuka is actually wearing some shorts and a tank top kind of ruins the effect.
The story has Nose as a boxer running a bar in Pattaya, who is immediately smitten by a Japanese tourist, played by Asuka.
I'm not sure what the teaser trailer has to do with the movie, but it's funny on its own as a send-up of the painful scene of James Bond being tortured in 2006's Casino Royale. The trailer, found on YouTube, is embedded below.
E-Tim Tay Nai is scheduled for release in Thai cinemas on October 9.
