Snow, a project by Handle Me With Care writer-director Kongdej Jaturanrasamee and producer Siwaporn Pongsuwan, is among 34 films-to-be chosen for the fourth Tokyo Project Gathering from October 21 to 24 at Tiffcom 2008, the industry market of the Tokyo International Film Festival.
Kongdej and Siwaporn have previously teamed up on Midnight My Love (Cherm) and Sayew -- a couple of the most creatively wacky movies to come out of Thailand in recent years. Siwaporn was also a co-writer with Sayew co-writer Kiat Songsanant on Taweewat Wantha's The Sperm. What strange, wonderful visions are Kongdej and Siwaporn having for Snow?
Other titles at TPG include Singapore's Forever, produced by Silvia Wong and directed by Wee Li Lin, Malaysia's Hopelander, produced by Edmund Yeo and directed by Woo Ming Jin, and the Filipino-Taiwanese co-production Pinoy Sunday by producer Margie Templo and director Wi Ding Ho.
Snow is also being pitched at this year's Pusan Promotion Plan.
Last year's TPG Award went to Just As Chao Phraya River Flows, a Thai-Japanese co-production that's being directed by Nonzee Nimibutr.
