Mongkol Channel on the air

I don't have a C Band satellite dish to be able to check it out for myself, but the Mongkol Channel is on the air.

Check out its website. It think it could also be called the Tony Jaa Channel.

Touted as "Thailand’s first 'movie channel'", it is reaching 2.5 million viewers, according to an item on Page 7 of today's Daily Xpress, and has added 100 films to its schedule along with an entertainment-news programme and an “actor’s auction” variety show.

“We’ve had a very good response,” Mongkol executive Vichaya Jarujinda is quoted as saying in Daily Xpress. “So far between 100 and 200 cable-TV operators across the country have picked up our channel.”

The films showing on the channel are productions from Sahamongkol Film International, as well as Thai-dubbed or Thai subtitled foreign films acquired by the company's Mongkol Major distribution arm.
