Thailand Entertainment Expo set for Siam Paragon

The inaugural Thailand Entertainment Expo is set for September 24 to 28 at Siam Paragon, a five- or 10-minute walk down the skybridge from CentralWorld shopping center, where the Bangkok International Film Festival will be going on from September 23 to 30.

Organized by the Commerce Ministry's Department of Export Promotion, the Expo is intended to be a showcase of Thailand's entertainment industry, providing a market for record labels, software manufacturers, computer games, film, television and video. The venue for the event had earlier been reported to be taking place out at Bitec, an exhibition hall far from the city center. A more recent report had the event taking place "at a Bangkok mall".

So they've narrowed the location down to Paragon. This is the same place that the sparsely attended Bangkok Film Market was held last year, so by broadening the focus to encompass all entertainment -- making it a, here we go again, "regional hub of entertainment" -- there's the hope it'll draw more vendors and clients.
