Ong-Bak 2 released on DVD in Thailand, Blu-ray planned in Germany

Ong-Bak 2 has been released on DVD in Thailand, according to Bangkok1080, which has a review. It looks fantastic.

Also, a Blu-ray release is planned in Germany, according to Logboy.

The German DVDs usually don't have Englisch.

And unless you've been living under a rock (or meditating in a cave perhaps?), you'll know that Thai DVDs almost never have English subs, and that is definitely the case with this one.

A Hong Kong release is forthcoming. Let's see what happens with that.

  1. i was at the beginning of march in hongkong.
the dvd of ong bak 2 was not available, neither in the HMV in tsim sha tsui nor the smaller dvd/vcd/bluray shops i found. the clerks didn't even know the movie, their database also didn't. when i asked for the movie, they went to imdb.com to check the release date.

  2. ...the yesasia listing was speculative. it usually seems to be based on information passed to them by distributors, i think, so they may have been told a rather vague "early march". these things, in HK, have a habit of suddenly appearing without much (if any) notice. hang in there! i'd like it on BD...

Please, no questions about where to download movies or subtitle files.

Please read the FAQ about Thai films on DVD before asking about where to find a Thai movie on DVD with English subtitles.
