When I see an elephant fly
Billboard-festooned loudspeaker trucks advertising movies are pretty common in Thailand, but this might be a first -- a movie ad on a blimp.
A photo of the airship advertising Kantana Animation's Khan Kluay II is found on Koen's Site, as pointed out by 2Bangkok, which helpfully links to AirShip Asia, which flies the Akra Skyway.
AirShip Asia has pictures of the elephant dirigible too.
The company's central airship port and service center is about 20 kilometers outside Bangkok, in Salaya, Nakhon Pathom, near Kantana Movie Town.
According to Airship Asia, the company is the first to operate airships in Southeast Asia. The two-seater Akra Skyway is 34 meters long and 10.47 meters high. By comparison, the current Goodyear blimps are 58 meters long and 18 meters high.
Anyway, the little war elephant, and his pigeon friend Chitlit, just got a whole lot bigger.
I want to cry "oh, the humanity," but it doesn't really apply in this case.
