Chatchai Plengpanich is shocking in Slice

Always on the lookout for the best movies to come out of Thailand, the upcoming crime thriller Slice (Chuean, เฉือน) by Kongkiat Khomsiri and Wisit Sasanatieng is on the radar of Todd Brown of TwitchFilm.net.

Todd's latest find is an enticingly wild behind-the-scenes image from the Slice set with director Kongkiat working with veteran actor "Nok" Chatchai Plengpanich, who's sporting a mane of shocking white hair. If you want to see the image really huge, head over to Twitch.

Slice also stars "Pe" Arak Amornsupasiri, a young rock 'n' roller who made his acting debut in Body #19 and has been increasingly featured in more films and in TV series. He also had something done with his hair -- he sliced off his rocker's mop.

Sonthaya Chitmanee, the good-buddy character from Muay Thai Chaiya and The Tin Mine is in the cast too.

I'm not completely sure what roles everyone is playing in the film, or why the heck Chatchai is looking like an albino. But I'm also content to not know too much more for now.

It marks the third collaboration by Kongkiat -- a member of the Art of the Devil series Ronin Team and director of Muay Thai Chaiya -- and Wisit (Tears of the Black Tiger, Citizen Dog). Kongkiat scripted Wisit's third directorial effort, the old-timey ghost story The Unseeable and Wisit worked behind the scenes on Muay Thai Chaiya.

Produced by Five Star, Slice is due to hit the big screens in Thailand sometime in October.
